Diamond TA Homestead
Our Cattle Herd
Here at Diamond TA we raise black angus cattle. Our cattle are our lively hood. They are a species I know well due to being raised working with them. Yes I name every single one of them but at the end of the day we will always have a butcher steer growing out and that the others being sold at some point. It is very rare for us to keep any calves back for breeding.
Our cattle take a trip to the vet once a year for shots, fly tags, weight, and pregnant checks. Very rarely due we need to take them in more than once but we do if we need to.
Our Girls
The gorgeous girlies that make it happen!

Tag 8 : 2010-2013?
Basil
My favorite out of the three originals! June and Maya are no longer here with us. This girl is a registered black angus cow and has good confirmation but lacks in overall size. She's always the furthest from people and a bit of a loner when it comes to her herd dynemic. She's a great mother and never lacking in milk supply! I hate to say it though with her age she will be leaving us soon and already made herself a beautiful replacement with her daughter Magnolia.

Marvel
Dopey and food motivated is the best description of this girl. She's an absolute doll that has out produced herself time and time again. She's chunky and loves to be loved on making for some friendly calves! Early 2025 she had something poke her eye and is now partially blind but it doesn't seem to faze her. This girl will most likely live out her days here because I don't see myself ever allowing her to leave me.

Kettle
This girl gives me whiplash sweet and then sometimes not, but if you have cubes she'll always be your friend. She can be a bit pushy making us label her as "dangerous" when we have company over. Although the only time you truly need to watch her closely is when she has a fresh baby on the ground. If it wasn't for her calves she gives us she wouldn't be here due to her aggressive habits at times. She's Thomas's favorite so she'll stay for now.

Tag Luna/1 : Summer 2024
Luna Moon
This chunky monkey reminds me so much of Marvel. Luna was bought in 2025 and straight out of the show ring. Making her halter broke and super easy to work with. I absolutely adore her cuddly self and the slobbery kisses she loves to give. She's is the easist cow to handle and quickly rocketed her way up my favorite list.

Tag Monroe/2 : Summer 2024
Monroe
Sweet but a psyco is what this cutie is. It's the charolais in her and I stand by that. Monroe came in with Luna and is also straight out of the show ring. She is 1/2 angus and 1/2 charolais and I can definetly tell by her personality. She is halter broke but can get a little sassy with it. She does love herself some good scratches and kisses so that makes up for it!

Tag 3 : August 20. 2024
Magnolia "Maggie"
My special girl... Miss Magnolia here is our first ever kept heifer. Out of a black baldie bull named Poker and her beautiful dam Basil. She's not as friendly as Luna and Monroe but does enjoy her head scratches and she'll do anything for some cubes which makes her an easier cow to work with. I can't wait to watch her continue to grow and produce us a lot of wonderful calves!

Chip
This guy is steered out and will be butchered soon. He's somewhat friendly and absolutely adorable. However we need to eat and we have to choose a calf when we need to and this happened to be the guy we chose. He is out of Poker {black baldie} and Kettle.

The 2026 babies

Tag 0106 : Febuary 13 ,2026
Poe
Cute little baldie bull calf out of Marvel. This guy started out a trouble maker straight from the begining of his life. He was born on Friday the 13th so shouldn't be much of a shocker. He also shows his father's attitude and therefore will become a steer. He is the most likely canidate to be staying as a butcher steer here.

Tag 07 : Febuary 25, 2026
Pebbles
Cute little black heifer out of Maya. This is Maya's last calf so I will be keeping a close eye on how this girlie grows. If she turns out cute and somewhat sweet or at least easy to work around she might stay to replace her dam. She'll have to hit every mark on our list for that to happen though.

Tag 06 : March 5, 2026
Poneyboy
Born big but growing a bit slower. This guy is a very curious black angus boy. He is June's last calf. With him being a boy we will not be keeping him. So far he has had a good personality and looking good. But with his size at birth he will most likely be steered out for meat.

Long Gone
We can't keep them all sadly

Tag 00 : 2018
Poker
Sold for $4,200. He was an aggressive bull but produced some amazing babies. I however am glad he's gone and I no longer have to be tense and looking over my soulder.

Tag 9862 : July 3, 2025
Nix
Sold for 2,500. She went back to her roots. Meaning she's went back to her mother's farmer and even met her granddam. She will be used for breeding there!

Tag 06 : July 10, 2025
